The Acer Aspire 3 A315-23 is a new and widely used laptop model known for its low powered CPU and huge battery life. However, users may encounter difficulties when it comes to finding compatible network drivers, especially for the Wi-Fi 6E card (MediaTek MT7902) installed in the device. This article addresses the issue of missing network drivers for the Acer Aspire 3 A315-23 on Windows 10, highlighting the lack of proper drivers provided by Acer and MediaTek. Additionally, we will explore alternative drivers that have been found to work with this card.
Wi-Fi 6E (MediaTek MT7902) and Acer Aspire 3 A315-23:
The Acer Aspire 3 A315-23 utilizes the MediaTek MT7902 Wi-Fi 6E card to provide reliable network connectivity that’s 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. However, Acer and MediaTek do not offer official drivers specifically designed for Windows 10 for this particular model, or at least I couldn’t ‘find any official website where can I download it. This can result in challenges when trying to establish a functioning network or Bluetooth connection on the Windows 10 operating system.
Fortunately, some users have discovered alternative drivers that have been found to work with the Wi-Fi 6E card (MediaTek MT7902) in the Acer Aspire 3 A315-23, despite being originally developed for an Asus device. These drivers are called:

I was 100% sure the wireless card should work with other drivers from a different vendor, but I was lazy and I found this information on https://www.elevenforum.com/t/drivers-amd-mediatek-wifi-bluetooth.11384/
Although these drivers were not specifically intended for the Acer Aspire 3 A315-23, users have reported successful installation and functionality with the Wi-Fi 6E card and I am one of them.
Based on my personal experience, I have encountered specific issues with Windows 11, particularly related to the Antimalware Service, resulting in high CPU usage and excessive battery drain. In Windows 11, the Antimalware Service was causing my CPU usage to remain consistently high at around 50%, and I noticed constant SSD read/write activities at approximately 200 MB/s.
This had a significant impact on my laptop’s performance and battery life, with the battery draining much faster than usual, lasting only around two hours. As a result of these issues, I made the decision to switch back to Windows 10, as it provided a more stable and efficient operating system for my specific needs. Windows 10 offered better control over resource usage, resulting in improved CPU performance and longer battery life.
In light of the challenges faced in obtaining Windows 10 drivers for the Wi-Fi 6E card (MediaTek MT7902) in the Acer Aspire 3 A315-23, it is important to highlight the need for laptop manufacturers, including Acer, to provide drivers for both Windows 10 and Windows 11. This is especially significant considering that Windows 11 may still have various bugs and compatibility issues.
